Here’s a super spiffy betta fish glass bowl for ya’ll. It’s got a globe shaped bowl that is modern, sleek but still has that really great ” glass betta bowl” feel.
This fishbowl is really a wonderful starter kit for those of us looking for that perfect desktop companion. It’s got a built in cartridge based filtration system that pours the water gently back into the bowl. It creates a really lovely waterfall feature.
One reviewer did note that if you are someone who just tosses the instructions over your shoulder when assembling things like this, that there is a little plastic piece that was flopping around in the box.
They eventually discovered that it was actually a little flow guide! It prevents splash from the water feature on this betta fish bowl!
The bowl holds almost two gallons of water so your betta fish should be just fine in there as long as you take care of him properly with regular water changes and such.
But I wouldn’t recommend any other type of fish be placed in this bowl, or that you go any smaller. Even for betta fish a 1 gallon glass fish bowl just isn’t going to cut it.
Most fish need LOTS more space than the betta fish, otherwise known as the Siamese Fighting Fish. Who in the wild carve out a small territory among the roots of mangrove swamps and rice paddies.
When picking out substrate for a betta fish in glass bowl like this, it’s important to keep in mind that this is a small space and if food can easily fall down into the pebbles.
The water is going to get really dirty really fast. Which means that you’ll be doing even more regular water changes. AND your betta will be a even more of a grumpy butt.
Thankfully this has a built in little filter to help with these problems. But that doesn’t mean you can be lazy.
So, finding something like this aquarium gravel will help your filter catch any forgotten bits of food or give your fish another chance to munch on it. If you don’t like the white gravel I linked to above, here is are a few other options!

Now anyone who’s ever had a betta fish knows they have a tendency to jump out of their bowls. And if you didn’t know and were asking the question “can betta fish jump out of their bowl?” well now you know, yes, yes betta fish jump out of bowls.
Now this bowl isn’t really all that shallow and the top does curve in but you will still want to keep an eye on this. Another worry is the obsession our feline friends have with drinking fish water (and running water)!
A simple fix for both these issues would be to cut a piece of screen or clear plastic canvas in a circle to place on top of your betta bowl and POOF! No jumping and no cat’s drinking the fish water.
That might not work with this exact bowl, as it might interfere with the waterfall effect of the filter. But, there are plenty of other betta fish glass bowls that this trick will work perfectly for.
We’ve been getting asked a lot about a glass bowl shaped like a fish, much like this one here at Amazon.
They’ve been wanting to know if they could use it as a betta bowl and if it would be ethical and safe for them. Ultimately, no, I don’t it would be a good choice.
It might make a beautiful piece of decor, but it’s not a good fish bowl. It’s not big enough and it’s not the right shape, your betta will end up jumping right out of it!
Below we are going to feature a few more betta fish bowls and tanks for you, just in case the ones we’ve already talked about above don’t quite fit your needs.
So, we’ll have some more betta fish glass bowls as well as a 3 gallon plastic fish bowl, tanks and fancy betta bowls!
